I am working on moving NLP systems closer to genuine “understanding” of grounded language involving embodied form of human computer interaction. Referring Expressions Generation is the main challange of this current work.

Research

Intelligent Feature Selection and classification Methods for Arabic Documents

Development of a bio-inspired algorithm called Firefly for Feature Selection process and combine it with SVM to build an effecient Arabic Text Categorizer system. Three available dataset are annotated and combined to train the model.

Multimodal Communication with Computer for Language Understanding

To increase "deep understanding" for both agents and the humans, we are conducting experiments on multimodal referring expressions REs: • Google Speech Recognition assessment • Understanding how humans use multimodal REs when interacting with avatars • Training intelligent models to Capture attributive descriptors, relational descriptors and historical actions
